Amy & Clive

The podcast with Amy Bailey and Clive Standen talking with co stars and fans of the most successful series on TV.

"This scripted series from the History Channel show became representative of so much more than just Vikings. It was about family life and it was about power and it was about greed and pain and grief and all the things that make us human. This show is popular all over the world. Hugely popular all over the world. So, it doesn’t matter what race, creed or colour you are. It has resonated with people because it’s a very human show. So, I think that is why it has been so popular with fans…and why we made Vikcast."

– Amy Bailey - Queen Kwenthrith

"Everybody thinks they’ve got a bit of Viking in them, when they go through their lineage and their family tree. There are a lot of people who feel connected to the Vikings. But, not many people actually know that much about the Vikings and I think this is the first show where its taken the culture of the Vikings. The traditions of the Vikings. The religion of the Vikings and seen it from the inside out. The Vikings have always been the other people, People that are riding and pillaging and they’re the bad guys and turn up at the films at the end like the hired help. This is the first time we put the Vikings at the centre of the story. But, I think the reason why it’s so successful is it breaks all the boundaries of traditional television. It’s not just an historical drama, it’s got the action and the intrigue and the battles and the voyaging which most historical dramas lack. It’s got a nuclear family at the centre of it. Its not just about the rading and the pillaging and the battling and the brawling that’s just the backdrop for the show. Its actually about a nuclear family trying to survive in a fierce climate. Vikcast will be a podcast for every Viking fan."
